Veradigm and HealthVerity Collaborate to Provide Clinical Researchers Access to Registry Data for Chronic Disease Research, Representing Millions of Patients’ Health Information.
Health IT vendor Veradigm, formerly Allscripts, announced a collaboration with healthcare data ecosystem HealthVerity to leverage registry data for chronic disease research. The partnership aims to combine Veradigm’s cardiology and metabolic registries with consumer data collected by HealthVerity, providing clinical researchers with research-ready data.
Veradigm’s Cardiology Registry contains over 102 million patient records from more than 19.9 million unique patients, making it one of the largest outpatient cardiovascular quality improvement registries. The registry monitors patients over time, tracking essential measures such as demographics, plan of care, cardiac events and comorbidities, exams, procedures, lab values, and related medications. The registry focuses on coronary artery disease (CAD), heart failure (HF), atrial fibrillation (AF), hypertension (HTN), and peripheral arterial disease (PAD).
The Veradigm Metabolic Registry aims to track and enhance the standard of care for prediabetes, diabetes, and cardiometabolic conditions across primary and specialty care. It contains over 79 million records corresponding to more than 13.5 million unique patient lives, 11,100 providers, and 3,400 office locations. The registry tracks patient demographics, A1c control, nephropathy, blood cholesterol, hypertension eye exam, foot exam, and antiplatelet therapy. In addition, Veradigm will provide access to EHR data from the past five years, covering 176 million patients with clinical activity and 300 million medical claims.
The collaboration between Veradigm and HealthVerity will make real-world data available through the HealthVerity IPGE platform, which leverages patient matching and identity resolution to ensure researchers can view a patient’s longitudinal journey without fragmentation.
According to Stuart Green, Senior Vice President, and General Manager at Veradigm, “Veradigm provides life science researchers scalable access to real-world clinical data via our direct connection with the point-of-care. With Veradigm’s Registry and EHR data on the HealthVerity platform, we are extending the reach of the Veradigm Network to further support improvements in patient care at scale.”
Andrew Kress, CEO of HealthVerity, stated, “Diabetes is a top driver of healthcare spend, and as we enter Heart Health Month, we are reminded of the need for comprehensive treatments for heart disease, a leading cause of death in the United States. This collaboration will enable far greater contextualization of important registry data and will provide a more holistic view of these patients’ journeys. Life Sciences organizations and clinical researchers can now obtain comprehensive patient-level data in a privacy-protected manner that offers real-world insight into the patient to ultimately improve care for these ubiquitous conditions.”
